Castañeda’s Marketplace

Jose Castañeda started Castañeda’s Marketplace in Windsor in 2007. He traded in a career selling computer chips in Silicon Valley, for selling tortilla chips at his community market in Windsor. So as he puts it, “still in the chip business.” Castañeda’s specializes in specialty and traditional foods from Mexico including produce, meat, and artisan baked goods. Castañeda’s is both a market where you can buy ingredients, but you can also purchase prepared foods traditionally made onsite such as tacos and burritos. Castañeda incorporates common local ingredients with imported and traditional Mexican ingredients resulting in a distinctive localized twist on his menu.
