COMPANY STORY
The Ronsheimer building is an iconic sight on Main Street in downtown Penngrove. Built in 1872, it served as a railroad station, general store, post office, and hardware store. In May 2015 a fire occurred in the back of the building, providing the opportunity for the building to be remodeled and revitalized, while still retaining the historic original facade. That’s when Rebecca McDowell, her husband Evan, and their long time friends Joe and Shaina Ferraro, made the decision to collaborate together and make Penngrove Market.
WHY SONOMA COUNTY?
The McDowell’s and Ferraro’s were born and raised in Petaluma and Penngrove, and wanted to raise their children here, while enjoying all of what Sonoma County has to offer. Sonoma County has a plethora of skilled artisans, farmers, chefs, and makers of all kinds, and it’s always been Penngrove Market’s dream to highlight those amazing people and products, while fostering community and protecting our environment.
